Course Content

Proficiency in Security Awareness In Jan 2014 it became an IMO legal requirment that all seafarers engaged in any capacity on-board ISPS Code Compliant vessels to have achieved the PSA. The training/certification is in accordance with the learning objectives set out in Section A-VI/6 of the amended STCW Code and includes:

 

  • Contribution to maritime security enhancement through heightened awareness
  • Recognising and reacting to security threats
  • Understanding the needs and methods for maintaining security awareness

 

Duration

Course Duration PSA is a 6-hour guided learning programme

   

Assessment

 Students will be assessed by an end of course exam.

 

Who should attend

Seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on board a ship which is required to comply with the provisions of the ISPS Code on the business of that ship as part of the ships complemnet without desisgnated security duties. Pre Couse Requirements There is no pre course restriction for this MCA Security Course.
