Level 2 Award for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (Top Up)

Course Duration: 3 days

 

Aim: Close Protection Operatives maintain the integrity and security for a varied list of clientele and high value assets.. It is important therefore that they are effectively trained and meet legal requirements in what can be a challenging environment.. Due to licence integration, learners can also apply for a licence to become a door supervisor. This is designed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a close protection operative and need to be brought up to date with the new licence linked qualification requirements.

The Level 2 Award for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (Top Up) has been developed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a close protection operative.

Learners must hold a valid Level 3 (RQF/QCF) (Level 6 (SCQF)) 3-day full first-aid qualification before they can begin any close protection training. Learners should present their first-aid certificate to their training provider before they start training. This certificate must be valid for at least 12 months from the course start date.

  • Close Protection for VIPs and celebrities
  • Protection for high-net-worth individuals
  • International assignments
  • Asset protection for high-end retailers
  • Residential security
  • Door supervision and security duties

The average wage rate is £25/hr earning up to £5000 per month.

  • Unit 01 Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry
  • Unit 02 Working as a Door Supervisor for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry
  • Unit 03 Physical Intervention Skills for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry
  • Unit 04 Physical intervention skills in the private security industry

Learners will need to show that they hold a current and valid First Aid certificate* that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Learners should present their First Aid certificate* to their training provider before they start training. This certificate* must be valid for at least 12 months from the course start date.
